2016 Projects Check-In

2016 Projects Check-In

At the first of the year I blogged about the projects and plans I had for our house for 2016. You can see the original post Here. Well, we’re more than halfway through the year, so let’s see what I’ve managed to accomplish so far!

First on the list was New Living Room Furniture.  I learned something about myself in January. I’m not a good furniture shopper. It’s so committal. What if I hate it in 6 months? I read reviews online until the cows came home and walked through more stores than I can remember. But we finally landed the right sofa. And chair. That tuft. 🙂

Next up was an overhaul of the Dining Room. The room is large enough to be split in 2 and serve as separate spaces. So, that’s just what I did! I moved the Dining table to one side and the old living room furniture to the other side. Originally, this was intended to be a formal living space. No TV.  Lots of Pretty things. Ya know. A no kid room. Well, after starting my company in January, I kicked the kids out of their toy room to create a home office. So, I sacrificed my formal living space for my darling, precious, children. I added a TV (wahhhhhh) and tried to create a less formal space (wahhhh again). This room really isn’t my final vision at all….but since it’s “their” room, I’m going to hold off on doing anything else to it!

We’ve come to a project I haven’t yet completed friends. I really want to continue my obsession with wallpaper by adding a bold accent wall in my daughter’s room. This project will hopefully be the next on my list of to-do’s. Perhaps when the weather gets a little chilly and my weekends are freed up. 🙂 Here’s the inspiration photo I shared in my original post. Swoon.

I’ve lost count of my list…I think we’re on number 5…Paint My Master. Not only did I paint my Master. I kicked in a wall. Wallpapered an accent wall. Purchased all new (antique) furniture. And installed barn beams. I call this project a success.

Number whatever we’re on – Paint the kitchen! Yayyyy!!! I got this done too! I knew I was good….but man I’m REALLY good. Kidding. Just kidding. But I am little good. Kidding again. I painted the kitchen and added a shiplap wall! I’m so in love with my kitchen right now! Let’s see how long it lasts! 🙂

So, not too shabby for August. I’m so glad I did this post back in January! So fun to look back on and see what we’ve accomplished this year so far!

Thanks for stopping!
