Did you know that I love Farmhouse décor? You probably didn’t………
OK….jokes aside. This is serious business here. Obviously, I love farmhouse décor. But I bet you didn’t know that I don’t live in an ACTUAL farmhouse. Tis true. I do not. I wish I did…..and one day I probably will. But as for now, I live in my pretend farmhouse. While she’s old and full of character and charm, she isn’t sitting on a grand farm. Or even a small farm. We have rabbits. And chickens. And a dog and a cat. But that hardly constitutes as a farm.
I still love farmhouse décor though and I decorate my house as though it’s sitting on a giant farm surrounded by fields.
My kitchen is pretty farmhousey. All white cabinets, dark flooring, light counter tops, lots of natural light, a wooden cow in the window sill. All the essentials.
For Christmas, aka the ONLY time I decorate with any kind of color……I love adding little wreaths to all of my upper cabinets. I used these sweet little green wreaths this year hung with some plaid ribbon. Oh, and because I had several questions on my Instagram about this, I’ll share here incase you’re wondering too. To hang the wreaths, I simply put a nail on the inside of the cabinet door at the top and then pushed the ribbon through the nail to hang.
Some simple evergreens in galvanized tins finish off the kitchen for Christmas. It’s fairly simple because this room is open to my Living Room which is home to my all-plaid Christmas tree this year as well as a large assortment of other Christmas splendor.
Thanks for stopping!!
