A Subtle Fall Living Room

A Subtle Fall Living Room

I don’t tend to go nuts with seasonal decorating…….except at Christmas. I swap my entire house out and everything turns to evergreen, wood, and sparkle. As for all the other seasons, I don’t do much. I like to keep it subtle. Just a few touches here and there that say “Fall” or “Spring”. I keep the mindset that less is ALWAYS more. I hate clutter. I hate overdone decorating. It makes me itchy. And itchiness leads to dry skin, and ain’t no one got time for that!

I posted my Dining Room yesterday, and other than a few pumpkins and a large centerpiece that I chopped out of my backyard, there really isn’t any Fall décor. I personally like the understated approach. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea which is totally rad. I’ll do me. You do you, boo.

So, today I thought I would share my Living Room in it’s “fall” state. It’s not going to knock your socks off, but it might give you some subtle inspiration.

I have a thing for plaid and stripes. And mustard yellow and blue. Not only in my decorating, but my fashion choices as well. I need a full blown plaid intervention in my life. No I don’t. Plaid and I are happy together. You let us be.

I threw a bunch of different printed/solid blue and white pillows on my couch with a mustard yellow striped throw. Which goes perfectly with my mustard yellow wreath on the giant antique window.

And that wraps up my fall décor in my living room. Stated enough to say “Yo! It’s Fall up in hurrrr.” but subtle enough to also say “Ello Sir. Fall is upon us on this fine day! Won’t you sit?”. Sophisticated yet loud. Chic yet reserved. You get it. And apparently, my living room has multiple personalities.

Have a great Friday people! It’s gorgeous here!

It is a buggy! We live in the heart of a large Amish community, so they go by all day long! 🙂
