Well, this is more like a “Mini Fall Home Tour”. Spare time is not my friend these days, so I’m not able to decorate the entire house….or even more than one room right now. Ha!
I will get the Kitchen done at some point…..maybe next week! The Kitchen is one of my favorite rooms to shoot, so that will happen at some point.
This week I worked on the Dining Room/Living Room! Remember, this is one big room that functions as two! I had a sneaking suspicion that I would keep things simple this year….alas, that’s just what happened. I don’t know when the simple bug bit me, but I’ve noticed a slow transition in my decorating. Less is more these days, friends. It’s also less to dust and clean. Ahem.
I picked up some pumpkins (real….I like em real, y’all!) and Mums from a local Farmer and grabbed some Faux Greenery from Gable Lane and I was pretty much set!
I created this Pumpkin – Greenery conglomeration on our Coffee Table in the Living Room. Minutes……hear me – Minutes Y’all….after finishing my masterpiece, my 8 year old son came in the room. I was sitting on the sofa drinking some Coffee admiring my creation…..when out of nowhere he started pulling the greenery out. Have I taught this boy nothing!? Look with your eyes kid. He claims that the greenery looked so real, he just HAD to touch it and see. Which kudos to Gable Lane…..but hands off.
After reworking the greenery in, all was well. This room is more of a “Formal Living Room” for us, so fortunately no one ever sits in here but the grown ups. Hopefully my creation will last at least until the Pumpkins rot.
I picked some Red Apples from our tree out back for the Centerpiece on the Dining Table! OH! And I almost forgot to mention….I painted the bottom part of the table! I LOVE IT. I used Dixie Belle Paint (you can find it HERE). It’s a Chalk Paint and the coverage is beyond amazing! Two quick coats and she was done! I’m SO happy with the results!! I used the color called Buttercream. It’s the PERFECT Farmhouse White. Get some. You’ll thank me!
Anywho….Apples for the centerpiece! Our apple tree is loaded this year and I love the pop of natural dark red in this room!
Overall, things were kept pretty simple here and I’m not hating it!
