Store Front Grand Opening!

Store Front Grand Opening!

Well, it’s been about 5 weeks since I got the keys to the new Store……..This is where I’m supposed to go on and on about how busy we’ve been, but I feel like that would be stating the obvious. One doesn’t open a store and NOT be busy.

So, let’s just discuss all the things that have taken place instead! 🙂

As previously discussed, the first thing our list was to PAINT. And Paint. And paint.

Here’s the thing friends. Don’t trust the online paint estimators. They lied and I spent an unnecessary $300 too much. Puh.

We painted the ceilings with a rented paint sprayer that didn’t work. Then proceeded to roll 1500 sq feet of walls because said sprayer wouldn’t work. My husband and I are quick when it comes to doing things we hate. Like when I run. I go as fast as I can just so it’ll be over sooner. We painted for 2 days until our arms fell off.

But once it was done……oh man. It was worth it. Mostly. It sucked the entire time….but I guess it’s worth it, now that it’s over.

A little reminder of what the space looked like before.

And after-ish…..

Once the painting was done, we were able to move everything from our old space in. We will operate both the Online Sales and the Retail Space in this same building.  Yay! It was maddening getting everything moved….and then reorganized.

Slowly, but surely the store started to come together. There were moments I honestly wasn’t sure I would be able to pull it off. The store seemed so empty no matter how much stuff I brought in! A trip to Kentucky and another really good haul put us over the top though and filled the space.

I’ve had a few really solid visions for exactly what I wanted this space to look like. My counter was one of them. I knew the moment I looked at this building, where I wanted my counter and what it would look like. The gigantic built in shelves. I knew I wanted to load them with all the pretty white things.

I haven’t fully processed everything just yet…’s all pretty surreal. I have “pinch me” moments, and then moments of pure gratification. Like…..I did it. I pulled it off. With a LOT……emphasis on a LOT….of prayers and support from my family, I, Jennifer Polley, am opening my very own Store!

I adore you all for reading and following along on my Instagram. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to update more on the Blog….but well. Ya know.

Here’s some photos (unedited….because who has time for that right now…?) of the finished product!

PS my husband is very happy that we don’t live close to your store. 😃

Congratulations! I just had a barn sale last weekend at my mother-in-laws barn, to see how well we could do if we had a local store front. We did well! So now I am praying what to do next! Try again? Get excited and go for the gusto? Your store is super cute, BTW! Hope it goes really well for you!

What Say You!
