TV Console & Gallery Wall

TV Console & Gallery Wall

I spent the past week on vacation in Tennessee with some family on their farm! It was a splendid time! We did lots of antiquing……lots. So, by the time we got home my brain was literally exploding with inspiration and ideas. We pulled into our driveway at 5:00pm on Sunday and by 5:35 I had my saw plugged in and started cutting boards. I need to create and build like I need air. Without it, I get antsy and anxious and my head explodes.

At some point while we were gone, I decided I didn’t like the armoire I had my t.v. sitting on. Makes sense right?

I figured I probably had enough wood to build a new console of some kind. I really had no plan. I just started cutting and building. I used 2×4’s for the legs and 1×4’s for the plank top and apron. The back of the console is a section of old picket fencing I had. I wanted something on the back to hide the cords from the tv and surround sound….and Xbox. And cable box. You know. All those unnecessary electronics that we Americans can’t live without.

My original plan was to mount the TV above the console……but ultimately decided I kind of like it sitting on the top of the console. I left it that way for… half a day and decided it still needed something. Enter…..A gallery wall.

I walked through my basement storage, the rest of my house, raided anything and everything from the garage and potting shed until I had enough to create a gallery wall. I love white and bright décor….but more than that I love incorporating rustic antique pieces WITH the white and bright. It’s my favorite.

I used this old gun stock I got at a flea market a few weeks ago, some framed photos I took, a chalkboard I made, an old ladder, and an old wash board. I love the look of all the wood around the white console table.

I really love this space now!! It totally transformed the room! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!
